01 · Starting point
Percepcism does not begin by declaring what reality is made of. It separates direct experience, external measurement, logical inference, authenticated revelation and speculation.
Shared observation, physical interaction, instrumentation, repeatability, measurement and mathematics.
The world as experienced: color, pain, warmth, memory, fear, pleasure and symbolic meaning.
The irreducible fact that experience occurs to someone, accessed from the first-person position.

Percepcism rejects the idea that every unknown phenomenon constitutes another layer.
Ignorance is not a layer.
A scientific instrument may simply be inadequate. A theoretical model may be incomplete. A phenomenon may appear mysterious while still belonging entirely to the physical domain.
Lack of knowledge ≠ layer boundary
A layer boundary becomes relevant when a phenomenon requires a fundamentally different mode of epistemic access and cannot be substituted by simply improving the tools of the previous mode.
This gives the Verification Boundary Principle: Two phenomena belong to distinct epistemic layers when knowledge of one requires a mode of access that cannot be replaced by expanding the verification procedures available to the other.
This principle does not automatically imply that the layers are composed of different substances. Epistemic separation must first be distinguished from ontological separation.
Epistemic difference ⇏ ontological difference
Human science resembles a sophisticated sonar operating inside a cavern. The sonar can tell us where structures are, how they behave, how they respond, what geometrical relationships exist, and increasingly subtle characteristics of the environment.
But the returned signal is still produced through interaction between instrument and territory. The failure to identify some property does not mean the property belongs to another layer. It may simply mean the sonar does not yet possess the relevant sensor.
A scientific instrument can measure electromagnetic radiation. A neuroscientist may map the retinal and neural processes associated with seeing red. Yet none of those measurements is itself the experience of redness.
The wavelength is not red in the phenomenal sense. The neural signal is not itself the felt redness. The experience constitutes another mode of access.
Physical correlate ≠ phenomenal access
This is not an argument against neuroscience. The claim is narrower: a complete third-person description of processing is not identical to first-person acquaintance with the resulting experience.
Ignorance is not a layer. A limit in current knowledge is not evidence of another domain.
02 · Verification boundary
The framework separates epistemic boundaries from ontological claims. Ontology comes later.
A layer distinction matters only when improving the tools of one mode cannot substitute for access through another.
Reliable scientific models reveal stable structure without automatically proving the intrinsic substance of reality.
A physical correlate of experience is not identical to first-person acquaintance with that experience.
03 · Scope
The manuscript continues through meaning, continuity, abstraction, religious boundary conditions, reason, ethics, free will, suffering and open limits.
L3 is the smallest directly available certainty: I am. L1 is the broadest domain available to shared investigation. L2 connects the measured world to the experienced one.
A system may classify two inputs without establishing subjectivity. Percepcism separates difference, functional discrimination and first-person experience.
A valid framework must state what could count against it, identify its access conditions and say what it has not demonstrated.
